The Statistics Division of the American Society for Quality sponsored a workshop on the subject of "From Consultants to Leaders," from April 25 - 27, 2002 in Roanoke, Virginia.

The purpose of this web site is threefold:

bulletto capture the outcomes of the April 25 - 27, 2002 workshop on "From Consultants to Leaders" held in Roanoke, Virginia
bulletto outline the initiatives launched at that workshop
bulletto chronicle the progress of those initiatives

We are planning a second offering of the "From Consultants to Leaders" workshop. It will be offered on June 11 and 12, at the Downtown Hilton in Knoxville, Tennessee near the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. More details are found at this link.

What did participants say about the first offering (April 25 - 27, 20020 of this workshop? Some sample quotes:

"What a GREAT conference! Possibly the best job-related conference that I have ever gone to. Not that I go to tons of conferences, and those I go to tend to be technical methods oriented, but this stuff is exactly what Ineed right now for where our stat group is at in our company's evolution.."

"Exceeded my expectations. As facilitators, the presenters' guidance proved invaluable in developing detailed personal action plans for leadership development."

"By the end of the conference, I left with a much better understanding of the essential qualities of leadership. I also recognized more clearly the need to change statistician's image as passive consultants, and actively participated in developing the action plans to bring about change in the profession."

"Boy this is great! Stat Div. did a great job in sponsoring this timely conference."
